Ada County Drainage District No. 3 was established in the early 1920s through the statutory process including obtaining a court order. The District is comprised of 3 Commissioners, a part-time water supervisor, and engineer, and counsel for the District. No separate offices are maintained by the District. The District’s function is to operate and maintain six drains serving the southeast Boise area and portions of the First Bench. When most of Ada County was farmland, the District drained irrigated lands and helped remove runoff water. These six drains now provide drainage for the remaining irrigated lands, including discharge from several irrigation canals and storm water (as well as sprinkler drainage) from the commercial and residential developments throughout southeast Boise. The six drains inter tie with several ACHD facilities and Boise City facilities. The District also maintains 2 pumps in the Apple Street/Bergeson Street area.
You should also know that the District only assesses an $8 per year fee. The County charges a $3 fee to collect the District’s $8 assessment.
